Day -2 Brotherly Love

,Noah had his last dose of chemo today. He’s feeling a little better but slept most of the day. Tomorrow he’ll have a rest day to prepare for transplant. Lucas had surgery for his Apheresis line placement. He was scared and nervous before surgery. After surgery he was feeling good and wanting to go to his room to play Xbox. He really wanted his name on his door to his room, like his brother. He had a surprise sign when he arrived and was extremely happy. He says he’s ready to give Noah blood. Lucas’ nurse gave him his last G-CSF shot. His lab tests show that his cell counts have increased tremendously and he’s ready to donate his stem cells to Noah.

Blood Labs – Lucas

White blood cells (WBC) – 39.1

Hemoglobin (HBG) – 11.4

Platelets (PLT) – 284

Absolute neutrophils counts (ANC) – 35,972

Noah got to visit Lucas in his room. When Lucas first saw Noah he said, “Bo Bo, I love you.” Noah smiled and said, “I love you too, Lukie.” Noah slept most of the time during the visit.

Tomorrow at 7am they will start the apheresis procedure on Lucas. It could take up to 8 hours.
